AUREUM postcard no. XVI.

This summer we toured the beautiful countries of Albania & Montenegro.

We've never had such a variety of concert venues in such a short time: a church, on the mountains, by the sea, in an old medieval town. It's unbelievable what these countries have to offer!

Thank you very much for your hospitality!

AUREUM changes.

You may have noticed that things have gotten a bit quieter around us recently. Some changes have occurred behind the scenes, and after 8 years of embarking on this quartet journey together, Joe and the rest of us are going artistically separate ways in the future.

Dear Joe, we want to express our gratitude for all the highs and lows we’ve experienced together over the years. We’ve learned so much from each other and what an incredible journey it has been! From traveling the world to producing two albums and performing on so many different stages together… We are very grateful for the beautiful musical moments we’ve shared both on and off stage. We wish you all the best for your future and your goals!
Wir wünschen dir alles Gute für deine Zukunft und deine Ziele!

Behind the scenes, we’ve been busy preparing for upcoming concerts. After this significant change, we were very fortunate to have found someone who resonates with us. So, we want to announce:

Welcome, Ferenc Takács!

We are thrilled that he will be joining us to fill the gap and complete our quartet once again. Making music together with you feels great and we can’t wait to see, where our journey together as a quartet takes us!

golden roots release.

golden roots is a celebration of our passion for music. We break down traditional boundaries between genres and conventions in our artistic expression. Questions about origin arise: where do our roots lie?

We embarked on a journey to discover our roots - musically, artistically, and personally.

golden roots represents tradition and modernity. Folk music and art music are not opposing forces, but rather origin and evolution.

To celebrate the release of our new album on August 5th, 2022, we invite you to the

Amerlingbeisl
Stiftgasse 8, 1070 Vienna.

Starting at 5 PM

please RSVP to contact@aureumsaxophonquartett.com (name and number of guests).

admission is free

AUREUM congratulations.

Last but not definitely least: Viola has now joined us in the Magister's club. Despite some last hurdles - a damn COVID infection and a criminal instrument theft - our tenor saxophonist has completed her studies with the highest distinction. We congratulate you warmly and can't wait to play the next concerts by your side!

Yours, AUREUM-Trio (Lukas, Martina & Joe)

Our quartet would not exist without this university and our teachers Barbara Strack-Hanisch and Michaela Reingruber since the four of us met there six years ago. Thank you for the support, mdw! You will always have a special place in our hearts.

#klanginseln – a collaboration with the Tonkünstler Orchestra

Two public spaces in Vienna will become an art agora for two days in spring 2018: the AUREUM Saxophone Quartet and the Tonkünstler Brass Trio invite you to encounter the arts and engage in creative reflection of perceptions. Images by painter Emmerich Gradauer will be presented to arrangements of Mussorgsky's piano cycle 'Pictures at an Exhibition'. A temporary gallery is created from the spontaneous, creative participation of the audience, who, inspired by the music, engages in painting themselves - and the sounds continue visually."
